Camel milk from Sarhad to reach metros in UHT packaging

Camel milk from Gujarat’s Kutch region is all set to hit the retail shelves of major metros and cities across the country as Sarhad Dairy has started selling milk under ultra-high temperature-treated (UHT) packaging besides offering camel milk powder eyeing a larger consumer base.

Considered as a rich source of natural insulin-like protein that helps in managing Type-1 Diabetes, besides nutrients including iron and Vitamin C, camel milk is currently sold in Gujarat under the Amul brand. But looking at the growing traction from the urban consumers, Kutch District Cooperative Milk Producers’ Union Ltd (Sarhad Dairy) — a member dairy of Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd (GCMMF) —is now getting into bigger markets with its 1-litre UHT packs as well as 25-gram powder sachets.

Samunnati launches Agri Elevate platform to connect farmers, FPOs, agri enterprises

Samunnati, a financial solutions provider for the agri sector, announced the launch of Agri Elevate, an ecosystem platform to offer services across the agri value chain to farmers, farmer producer organisation (FPOs) and agri enterprises.

The platform, essentially on the lines of business directory services, is aimed at helping FPOs and agri enterprises meet their information and service needs.

Rubber Board to organise 5-day rubber cultivation training

The Rubber Board is organising a five-day training (from January 4-8) in rubber cultivation at Rubber Training Institute, Kottayam. The course content includes modern developments in planting materials, techniques, fertiliser recommendations, pest and disease management, tapping and crop processing.

The training fee is Rs. 3,750.00 (GST 18%+ flood cess 1% extra). Members of Rubber Producers’ Societies will get 25 per cent concession in fee on production of membership certificate. For boarding and lodging facility, Rs 300 will be charged extra per day, per participant.
