The global organisation, with over 5,400 members in 102 countries, has said it is trying to avoid the ecological issues that countries such as Indonesia faced as they expanded oil palm cultivation. The members include industries, farmers, non-governmental organisations and all other stakeholders in the oil palm ecosystem.
“We are already have 150 members in India. We are in talks with various governments to impress upon them on the need to pitch for sustainable oil palm development,” Shivnayan Aggarwal, Executive (Market Transformation – India), told businessline.
Insecticides India launches fungicide to tackle ‘Downy Mildew’ in grapes

Insecticides (India) Limited (IIL) unveiled a fungicide called Stunner to combat the Downy Mildew disease in grapes. The fungal disease Downy Mildew causes huge losses to farmers, as it results in the mortality of grape vines ranging from 20-80 per cent affecting the quality of the fruits.
“This is the first time that this technical and formulation is being manufactured in India. Owing to the requirement of a fungicide for successful grape cultivation, our farmers were mainly dependent on the imported fungicide formulations till date. However, being a firm believer of the ‘Make in India’ initiative, we took this step, and here we are with Stunner in hand for the first time in India,” said Rajesh Aggarwal, Managing Director, Insecticides (India) Ltd in a statement.
Marut Drones gets DGCA approval for agricultural drone
The certification from the Central agency would make the model ‘AG 365’ eligible for unsecured loans
The Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has given the Type Certification approvals for AG 365, a multi-utility agricultural drone developed by Marut Drones.
“AG 365 is extensively tested on over 1.5 lakh acres and optimised for performance to be used in agriculture. It was also tested for crop specific spraying SOPs (standard operating procedures) with top agriculture universities and research institutes,” said Marut Drones’ Founder Prem Kumar Vislawath.
The certification from the Central agency would make the model eligible for unsecured loans of ₹10 lakh each from the Agri Infrastructure Fund at an interest of 5-6 per cent.
