List of awardees in agriculture sector 2018:

➢ The First World Agriculture Prize (2018) awarded to– Dr. M.S.Swaminathan for his contributions to Indian Agriculture (Instituted by Indian Council of Food & Agriculture)

➢ World food prize 2018– won by- The World Food Prize 2018 was awarded to- Lawrence Haddad and Dr. David Nabarro for their individual but complementary global leadership in elevating maternal and child under nutrition within food security.

➢ Best Horticulture state awarded to- Nagaland

Krihi Karman Awards:

➢ Krishi Karman awards were instituted in the year –2010-11

➢ To reward the best performing States in food grains and individual crops of Rice, Wheat, Pulses, Coarse Cereals and Oil s Krishi Karman Award in Rice Category- Jharkhand

➢ **Krishi Karman Award for the highest production of food grain (>10 mt) awarded to- Tamil Nadu

ICAR Awards:

❖ The Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) has been adjudged as Sardar Patel Outstanding ICAR Institution Award 2017 ICAR- IIPR, Kanpur bagged Sardar Patel Outstanding ICAR Institution Award – 2017 among the ICAR institutes of “Major Institutes’ Category”.

❖ ICAR-Indian Institute of Water Management (IIWM), Bhubaneswar bagged the Sardar Patel Outstanding ICAR Institution Award – 2017 among the ICAR institutes of “Small Institutes’ Category”.

❖ ICAR- National Dairy Research Institute, Karnal has been ranked first among 72 Agricultural Universities of India.
