Over 55 lakh Karnataka farmers receive a total of Rs 985.61 Cr under PM-KISAN scheme

Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa on Friday said more than 55 lakh farmers across the state have received a total financial benefit of Rs 985.61 crore directly into their bank accounts as the first instalment for the current fiscal, under the “Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi” (PM-KISAN) scheme.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today released the fresh installment of the financial benefits under the PM-KISAN scheme via video-conferencing, which Yediyurappa attended.

“Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi Ji released the 8th installment of financial benefit under PM-KISAN, an initiative providing income support to the farmers. More than 55 lakh farmers across Karnataka received Rs.985.61 Cr directly into their bank accounts,” Yediyurappa tweeted after the video- conferencing.

PM-KISAN benefits reach WB farmers; 7.03 lakh farmers get 1st installment of Rs 2,000 each

For the first time on Friday, the benefits under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme reached farmers of West Bengal as about 7.03 lakh of them got Rs 2,000 each under the programme launched more than two years ago.

Under the scheme, also known as PM-KISAN, a financial benefit of Rs 6,000 per year is provided to the eligible farmers, payable in three equal 4-monthly installments of Rs 2,000 each. The fund is transferred directly to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries. The scheme was launched in February 2019 but was implemented with effect from December 2018.

Tea planter requested for smooth functioning of tea gardens operations

With restrictions and curfew is put in place owing to surge in COVID-19 cases, tea planters sought movement of persons working in tea factories from workplace to home during curfew hours and relaxation for vehicles carrying green tea leafs to factories .

In a letter to Deputy Commissioners of tea producing areas, North Eastern Tea Association (NETA) stated curfew is imposed from 2 PM to 5 AM effective from 13th May, 2021 vide order dtd 12th May 2021 issued by the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) . Industrial units and tea gardens may function subject to observance of COVID appropriate behaviour.
