Amul to replicate Gujarat model in AP

Amul is in the process of replicating its famed Gujarat cooperative dairy production model in Andhra Pradesh. As it sets out to make AP a hub for its expansion to the Southern markets and Odisha, dairy major Amul will help about 10,000 women cooperatives build a network of cow and buffalo milk production centres.

Akshayakalpa organic milk launched in Chennai

Akshayakalpa, a certified organic milk brand from Karnataka, has entered the Chennai market with a range of organic dairy products. It has been selling milk on a trial basis since July and got positive feedback from customers for the full-fledged launch today, said Shashi Kumar, Founder & Managing Director of Akshayakalpa, which is backed by investors such as Lok Capital and Venture Dairy.

Agri-tech start-up Unnati forms tie-up with Mosaic

Agri-tech start-up Unnati has partnered Mosaic, a global fertiliser firm. The tie-up is aimed at digitising Mosaic’s retail channel in India using Unnati’s tech platform which aims to ease the payment and credit flow to retailers and help farmers with nutrient management.

Mosaic has over 1.5 lakh fertiliser retailers, who will be provided with tools to manage their stores. Unnati, through its tech-led platform, will also enable the retailers to source products, engage with farmers directly, and extend credit to the farmers. Furthermore, retailers can avail working capital loans and will be trained to enable farmers to sell their farm output through Unnati’s tech platform, the start-up said in a statement.
