First electric tractor in the country tested at MP’s farm machinery institute

The electric tractor will be more environmentally friendly than other types of tractors

The first-ever electric tractor in the country has been tested at the Central Farm Machinery Training and Testing Institute (CFMTTI) in Budni, Madhya Pradesh.

An official statement said that CFMTTI had received an application for an electric tractor under confidential test initially. Accordingly, it tested the tractor and released the draft test report in February this year.

Coromandel Q4 net profit falls at ₹156 cr

PAT for 2020-21 up at ₹1,329 crore

Coromandel International, a manufacturer of fertilisers, crop protection and other agri inputs, has posted a lower net profit of ₹156 crore in the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2021, against ₹234 crore in the comparable quarter last year.

The Murugappa group company reported a consolidated total income of ₹2,872 crore (₹2,881 crore).

Centre saves ₹8,000 crore by tapping additional foodgrain storage capacity

Union Government decides to not construct open system any longer to store grains

The Union Government has saved at least  8,000 crore by deciding to utilise 20 per cent additional foodgrain storage capacity in its warehouses, even as it has decided not to construct the open cover and plinth (CAP) storage from the beginning of the current fiscal.

“Under CAP storage wheat quality gets affected, while its longevity is also shortened. Therefore, we have decided to go for construction of modern silos. We will be setting up 100 lakh tonnes (lt) modern silos storage capacity,” Union Food Secretary Sudhanshu Pandey told BusinessLine.
