India’s Bagadiya Brothers lowest bidder in Bangladesh rice 50,000 t import tender
KRIBHCO arm also enters fray, emerges second lowest bidder
Bangladesh’s first rice import tender for this year has fetched the lowest quote from Indian grain exporting firm Bagadiya Brothers Private Ltd with New Delhi’s Kribhco Agri Business Pvt Ltd giving it a tough competition for the bid.
The Raipur-based firm offered parboiled rice at $439.10 a tonne in the 50,000-tonne import tender, while Kribhco Agri, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Central cooperative firm KRIBHCO, quoted $444.56.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate ‘IDF World Dairy Summit 2022’ at Greater Noida next Monday wherein more than 1,500 delegates (including 300 from abroad) from 50 countries are expected to participate, according to Union Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying Minister Parshottam Rupala.
Addressing media about the upcoming event, to be held in Greater Noida in the national capital region, he said the theme of the 4-day event is ‘Dairy for Nutrition and Livelihood’.
Bonanza for basmati farmers amid low acreage, export demand
Exports of the premium, aromatic variety in April-July period of this fiscal was up 5.3% from the year-ago period
The first round of basmati crop survey is out and the crop is likely to be lower than what it was three years back, when the acreage hit 20 lakh hectares (lh).
This year, the basmati acreage is seen at 16.31 lh, according to satellite survey commissioned by government’s agri export body APEDA.
